Judaism & Veganism, Lunch & Learn with Rabbi Shmuly

Tuesday, June 8, 2021 28 Sivan 5781

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Join us as we hear from Rabbi Dr. Shmuly Yanklowitz and learn more about Veganism and Judaism.

To Whom Are We Obligated? Our Responsibility for Humans & Animals!

We have infinite obligations to ourselves, our families, our friends, our communities, and to society at the large. We also know that we have duties and responsibilities toward non-human animals, indeed all sentient beings. How are we as Jews to navigate the moral quandaries? In this session, Rabbi Shmuly will guide us through Jewish texts raising profound moral questions to grapple with.

Rabbi Dr. Shmuly Yanklowitz  is the President & Dean of the Valley Beit Midrash (Jewish Pluralistic Adult Learning & Leadership), the Founder & President of Uri L’Tzedek (Jewish Social Justice), the Founder and CEO of Shamayim (Jewish Animal Advocacy), the Founder and President of YATOM, (Jewish Foster and Adoption Network), and the author of 18 books on Jewish Ethics.

Please RSVP by Friday, June 4, 2021, in order to receive vegan snacks. Snacks will be available for pick up at CSK on Monday, June 7, from 3 - 5 PM.
