Youth Groups

Congregation Shaarei Kodesh is part of the Hanegev Region of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and is a member of the Arvot Sub-Region of USY. It has youth programs for high school students (grades 9-12), middle school students (grades 6-8), as well as elementary school students (grades 3-5).

Our programs are part of the national youth movement for Conservative Jewish teens across North America. For more than 60 years, USY has taught young Jews the values and skills they need to become exceptional leaders in their religious and secular communities.  These programs become a second home - a safe, fun space where children and teens can be themselves and discover their potential.

Our Youth Groups will be meeting virtually for now and we provide the space for teens and children to find a sense of belonging in a warm, inclusive community, meet new friends and form lasting bonds through shared experiences, and develop confidence and leadership skills. Encourage your child, along with their other Jewish friends in the community to join CSK's Youth Group!

In addition to the CSK Youth Group, there will also be a national program available to 5th - 12th graders through USYfiFALL - a season of excitement, learning, connection and fun. #MyUSYfiFall is by International USY and is built on the success of their online summer experiences. They have created a model for Jewish youth to engage at the international and regional level with USY or Kadima, find a Jewish community, and make lasting social connections even while physically apart. With #MyUSYfiFall, participants will have access to a diverse schedule of online programs throughout the season. While our chapters will continue to run their incredible programs and engage with teens on a local level, #MyUSYfiFall participants will also have the opportunity to join Jewish pre-teens and teens from across North America in programs focused on Israel, leadership, relevant learning discussions, pure fun, and so much more.

The #MyUSYfiFall All Access Pass also includes regional and international dues for a USY or Kadima membership, as well as access to all regional conventions and virtual programming from September 9, 2020 - December 20, 2020.

Meet our Youth Director, Shrin Rostamian

Shrin has been the youth director for a year here at CSK. Throughout her whole life, she has participated in Jewish activities. It first began with Chalutizm then moving forward with Kadima and USY. Her involvement really shaped her to the person she is today and has helped develop leadership skills that expanded her horizons in college. If it wasn't for BAUSY's Youth Group, Shrin's background would not be as strong. Shrin has upheld many leadership positions with Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach and other clubs. Shrin is very excited to continue this journey and is hopeful to empower more students!
