Youth Groups

Congregation Shaarei Kodesh is part of the Hanegev Region of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism and is a member of the Arvot Sub-Region of USY. We have youth programs for high school students (grades 9-12), middle school students (grades 6-8), as well as elementary school students (grades 3-5).

Our programs are part of the national youth movement for Conservative Jewish teens across North America. For more than 60 years, USY has taught young Jews the values and skills they need to become exceptional leaders in their religious and secular communities.  These programs become a second home - a safe, fun space where children and teens can be themselves and discover their potential.

Our Youth Groups will be meeting virtually between 1-2 times a month and will provide the space for teens and children to find a sense of belonging in a warm, inclusive community, meet new friends and form lasting bonds through shared experiences, and develop confidence and leadership skills.

Encourage your child, along with their other Jewish friends in the community, to join CSK's Youth Groups!

UNITED SYNAGOGUE YOUTH (USY) — GRADES 9-12
USY will meet 2 times a month online. USYers have the opportunity to grow their leadership skills among many other benefits in a social, Jewish setting.  Our annual program calendar is primarily planned and implemented by USYers themselves with guidance and supervision by our Youth Director, Shrin Rostamian. Our USYers truly own the fun and engaging experiences that they work hard to create and feel passionate about building relationships with other Jewish teens in Boca Raton and across the entire Southeast Region of the United States. Additionally, they have the chance to attend dances, conventions, social action events, and Yom Disney with other teens from across the southeast United States once the coronavirus clears.

KADIMA- GRADES 6-8
Kadima meets twice a month virtually. Some programs are planned by the middle schoolers themselves. Kadima members may attend conventions and “lock-ins” with other chapters in the South Florida area as well as Yom Disney once coronavirus clears.

CHALUTZIM GRADES 3-5
Chalutzim meets one Sunday a month. Students enjoy a variety of fun activities and games. The planned activities provide an opportunity to be part of the dynamic community at Congregation Shaarei
Kodesh.

MEET OUR YOUTH DIRECTOR, Shrin Rostamian

Shrin has been the youth director for a year here at CSK. Throughout her whole life, she has participated in Jewish activities. It first began with Chalutizm then moving forward with Kadima and USY. Her involvement really shaped her to the person she is today and has helped develop leadership skills that expanded her horizons in college. If it wasn't for BAUSY's Youth Group, Shrin's background would not be as strong. Shrin has upheld many leadership positions with Hillel of Broward and Palm Beach and other clubs. Shrin is very excited to continue this journey and is hopeful to empower more students!

To get involved with Youth Groups, email shrin@shaareikodesh.org or call 954-515-9420.
