8:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Eating for Health and the Planet

We are pleased to announce Shamayim: Jewish Animal Advocacy's newest program - Havdalah for Health - Eating for Health and the Planet. Rabbi Baum will begin the program by leading Havdalah and then we will discuss the Jewish values that tie into our eating and personal health and learn to practice meditative eating.

Our event will be led by Lisa Apfelberg, Director of Shamayim: Jewish Animal Advocacy; Aaron Guttman, owner Guttman Fitness, LLC, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Health Coach; and Rabbi Deb Smith, founder and spiritual leader of Congregation Or Ha Lev.

We will explore what the Torah has to say about ways to help the planet and our personal health through a food-based discussion. As a result of the pandemic, we are stuck at home and thinking about ways to stay healthy. Additionally, our planet has dealt with many environmental calamities; wildfires, storms, and floods. We will talk about recipes you can enjoy that can help in all of these areas.
